Dressage review for March  7th 2010

Well what a lovely start to the first show of the season , last year we had snow, hail, rain and the one competition we had some sun it was blowing a gale lets hope this is a good omen and the weather is going to be kind to us this year.
well done to you all as i know very few people have been able to keep their horses fit this year with the freezing conditions we have had to endure.

Ellie Jay Pedley got off to a good start with Blue print winning the intro B, mum Julie must have been pleased as Ellie Jay rode a very accurate test.  Our own Sambrini came 2nd ridden by Flo Plummer we were pleased to see her go round without having a tantrum ( sambrinin that is) as it was her first test, we just need to work on getting her to stretch down and who knows it might be a 1st next time.

Carey Inman Harrison came 1st in the prelim 10 with Crystal well done Carey, both Carey and Michelle Paton have 1/2 qualified for the JRS Championship in Autumn.

Prelim 14 saw Sarah Wilkinson on Our Man Flint beating mum Sally and winning  with a huge 74.58% 2nd was Catherine   Arthurson with a very respectable 63.33%. I know Louise Hannington was over the moon when she found out she had beaten sister sophie this time by coming 3rd . All  3 placings are  1/2 qualified for the prelim JRS Championship by having over 62%.

Our winner of last years points trophy Janet Wilson -Walsh has now taken to riding side saddle and competed in the novice  side saddle on  Storm, unfortunately i missed her test as i was adding up the score sheets and would have loved to have seen it.
The novice 27 saw  Sarah Wilkinson have  another super win on Our Man Flint with 70.35% which means another 1/2 qualification into the Novice JRS Championship.
Rhiannan Jenkins was 2nd with her lovely horse Squire Connie Fair with 67.14% , travelling companion diamond Dazzler ridden by Freya Gilding was 3rd with 65.71%  who has also 1/2 qualified along with Janet on Storm.

Rhiannan Jenkins on Squire Connie Fair had a super win  in the novice 25 with 68% and has now fully qualified for the novice JRS Championships, Jill Firth on Belle has 1/2 qualified with a score of 67.2%.

The Elementery 44 saw 3 riders brave enough to have a go, Jill Firth on Ritchie who went h/c but will be thrilled with her score of 71.6%.
Freya Gilding Won On her own Diamond dazzler and Rosie Smith was 3rd on Jodhpurs riding schools Daniel O Hara.

We will be introducing some 60 metre tests in may and if enough interest some medium tests.

                                                                     October 17th Championship 2009

first of all can i thank all of you who competed in the Championship for making it a fantastic day, the sun was shining, andthe competition got under way with the novice warm upround. Sue beckington on Robinson, Emily Hammond on Freyaland and Dianne Dakeyne on Tiger Lily qualified through to the novice Championship, Emily having only owned Freyaland for a few weeks were proving a formidable partnership as they went on to win theChampionship Novice Class taking home the A E Tuley trophy.

Tracey Benson-Burke took 2nd place and the JRS trophy, local girl Louise Hannington from tockwith took a well deserved 3rd with Hob Nob and the JRS Trophy and i'm sure he got an extra carrot that night.
Sarah Aynsley was the only rider who didn't own he own horse, a weekly rider at Jodhpurs , hired Rocky from the school and came a very respectable 6th.

Anothe Tockwith rider young Sophie Cook cleaned up in the novice pony Championship taking 1st & 2nd places with her 2 ponies Brookhouse Welsh Guard and Cinder Boy taking home the Harrogate Sports Trophies & the JRS trophy, Christie Farren took 3rd place & the JRS trophy on Skylo  and Sophie Hannington took 4th place, not quite matching sister Louises 3rd place.

There were only 3 clear rounds in the Intermediate pony Championships jump off, 1st place going to Charlotte Barrand on Declan took away the Harrogate Sorts shop Trophy & Sophie Cook took 2nd & the JRS Trophy on Brook house Welsh Guard with fractions of a second separating them.  3rd place went to Lucy Follos on her super little pony Pockets.
Sophie Cook went home laden with trophies and prizes, i'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of her next year.

Intermediate horse Champiuonship 1st place & the Leading Solvents Trophy went to Kayley Brookersbank on Indie, this partnership have had a great season on the circuit this year.
Lucy Follos took 2nd place on her young horse Fort Apache, Emily Hammond did it gain and took 3rd place with Freyaland.

May i thank all our sponsors for the Trophies and super prizes.

We will be starting the Qualifiers again in 2010 and are aiming for more prizes next year.

Many thanks to all our supporters and helpers, especially our course designer Charles Tuley.
